There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.
– 1 John 4:18

Thoughts on Today’s Bible Verse:

There is no fear in love, for love comes from God and God holds sovereignty over everything. If we have true faith in God, we won’t fear adversity and suffering, or even death. Just as the experience of the saints of the ages: Daniel was cast into the den of lions, three saints were thrown into the burning fiery furnace, Peter was crucified upside down, and James was beheaded…. These saints and prophets, without exception, stood resounding testimonies for God when death drew near. Outwardly they were dead, but their souls were with God. God is with those who truly love Him. God’s love can drive out fear. They had true faith in God and knew that man’s life is controlled by God’s hand and that death is not daunting; what is frightening is betraying God. Therefore, they could praise God at their last moment. Their faith, faithfulness, and obedience to God were exactly what we should imitate. There are many western missionaries being killed after they came to spread the gospel in China. However, they did not give up on their mission. Even at their last breath, they still insisted on spreading the gospel of the Lord to countries around the world. Because of this, we have the chance to come before the Lord. If someone gives up on his mission for fear, he is a person of little faith who has embraced Satan and betrayed the Lord. Even though his body doesn’t die, his soul is surely dead in God’s eyes and there is no real peace and joy in his heart. In the last days, God wants to perfect a group of people who can stand testimony for Him. Just as God says, “Those who God refers to as overcomers are those who are still able to stand witness, maintain their confidence, and their devotion to God when under the influence of Satan and under siege by Satan, that is, when within the forces of darkness. If you are still able to maintain a heart of purity and your genuine love for God no matter what, you stand witness in front of God, and this is what God refers to as being an overcomer.” May we have a constant and unabating love for God, pursue the truth and bear life’s testimony to God in any circumstances.
