For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
– Proverbs 1:32

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

A comfortable environment is not always good for us, instead, we tend to make no attempt to progress in it. As we all know, we need to go through ups and downs as we grow. Or else we cannot withstand a single blow like the flowers in a greenhouse, much less can we adapt to harsh conditions. If we wish to achieve maturity in life, we have to first undergo some setbacks and hardships. After encountering many difficulties, our ability to see things and handle problems increases, and we grow maturer. Therefore, only sufferings can be of benefit to our growth. To undergo sufferings and trials is God’s greatest blessing. Take Abraham sacrificing Isaac as an example, in the trial of actual facts, he gave up his beloved only son to satisfy God; afterward, God blessed him, and make his progeny as numerous as the stars of heaven, and as plentiful as the sand on the sea shore. We are on an arduous path during the course of following Jesus. If we experience Jesus’ words and truly rely on Him in sufferings, we will surely learn precious lessons.
