April 7, 2019—Leviticus 11:45

For I am the LORD that brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
– Leviticus 11:45

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

It is recorded in the Old Testament of the Bible that the Israelites are God’s chosen people. Jehovah God guided their lives for several thousands of years. Afterward, the Lord Jesus incarnate did the work of redemption, and His gospel has already spread all over the world. However, some Israelites hold on to the Old Testament. It makes us feel sad. When God’s still in heaven, we humans acknowledge Him, but when God became the Son of man on earth, He was rejected by man. From this we can see that man has been profoundly corrupted by Satan. God is spirit and He is holy, and we can in no way approach Him and cannot offend Him. Just as the Bible recorded, when Uzzah was delivering the ark, he reached out and took hold of the ark because of the rough road. God’s anger burned against him and he died immediately. From this we can see man can’t get close to God. Therefore, for the sake of better saving mankind, God became flesh, acted as a sin offering and was nailed to the cross. How great God’s love is for mankind!

My Prayer…

However, we are forgiven our sins because of belief in the Lord, but still go on living cyclical lives of sinning in daytime, confessing at night, with no way to shed the bonds of sin. If we continue to behave like this, how can we become holy and enter into the kingdom of heaven? It’s not difficult to find through studying the Bible that God will do another work in the last days. The Bible recorded, “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (Hebrews 9:28).
